MORTGAGE APPLICATION CHECKLIST Prior to meeting with your loan officer, gather the following documents to take with you. With the exception of Contract of Sale, which should be an original, all other documents should be copies. Keep all the originals in a folder for easy retrieval. Don't be surprised if sometime during the process you receive a call or a letter asking you to submit a document you have already submitted. Just re-submit as quickly as possible. As soon as you make the decision of where you are applying for a mortgage, give the name & number to your Broker or agent. These are the documents you should take with you at time of application for a mortgage. Review this list with your loan officer at the time of the initial phone call. There may be other documents your particular situation might require. Copy of your Purchase & Sale Agreement Your present mortgage information 2 year history of employment, current pay stub, last year W2 and verification of other income sources like child support, alimony If self-employed, copies of past two years Federal Tax Returns Account numbers and name & address of bank, credit union, and or brokerage checking, savings accounts, and or brokerage accounts All credit card account information (Just make copies of cards) Name, account number and outstanding balance of each of your debts, monthly utility bills not included Detailed information about any assets Gift letter if part of funds to purchase are coming from a gift If FHA - Copy of Social Security card and photo ID If VA - Certificate of Eligibility or DD214 If Employee Relocation Client - include relocation information and copy of offer, promissory note and copy of check on bridge loan.
